Four Greens Community Hub

Four Greens Community Hub - New Fitout - STED Interiors Ltd

Internal fit out of the old office space at Four Greens Community Hub, Whitleigh, Plymouth

Project Snapshot

Reconstructing the use of the area, from one big office space into smaller separate office spaces, a hot desk area, break out area and meeting room.

The Challenge

Four Greens Community Hub is a wonderful place and Trust, that is focused on helping the community, offering a variety of services, including a food bank and various wellbeing services.

We were approached by the client to offer some ideas for one of their rooms within the building on the 2nd floor, which was currently one big space, but with only a few tables and chairs within it. The area had so much more potential than what it was currently being used for and the client wanted ideas on how to maximise the room and turn it into a multifunctional area, offering a variety of services to the community, such as a warm, and break out space, a hot desk area, and meeting rooms for various uses, including counselling. We needed to work while the building was still fully functioning and open to the public.

The Solution

We had various onsite meetings with the client to discuss their requirements in detail, offering our expertise, and advice on ways to maximise the uses for the area.

We had a very hands-on approach, marking out the potential areas of the rooms on the floor, to give the client a sense of vision of the space. Once we had taken measurements and had a rough idea on what the client wanted, we had some drawings completed and presented to the client. After a few more meetings and a few amendments, we had a final drawing completed and signed off.

The client wanted us to create various spaces within the area, whilst keeping natural light flow and maintaining the feeling of spaciousness. We achieved this by building the 3 office areas around each of the existing windows, therefore keeping it light and bright in each separate meeting room. We also built a separate, bigger meeting room area, with a window installed down one end, to keep it light and inviting.

We built a hot desk workstation area, with acoustic dividers to accommodate up to 7 people, and a breakout space, with coffee station and shelving.

We also installed a reception desk to the outside of the space, for welcoming visitors.

The project was a complete interior fit out, including, dry lining, painting & decorating and carpentry.

The Results

The project was wonderful to be involved with, especially knowing we were constructing something that would hopefully benefit so many people in the community, in a variety of ways.

From start to finish the project went very smoothly and the client was very accommodating with access and material deliveries, which made our job easier.

We added little touches, like incorporating the Trust’s corporate colours into the colour scheme, such as the acoustic dividers on the hot desk, workstation area and the purple reception desk. The paint was matched to some of the existing painted areas within the building to continue the scheme, and add a bright pop of colours.

The whole space was converted from a very empty, uninspiring shell to a multifunctional, bright, and welcoming area.

We hope people enjoy the new room, as much as we enjoyed fitting it out.

Testimonial from Client

“STED Interiors were recommended to us by one of our other suppliers to be considered for an office conversion job and this was the best recommend we could of had. Professional, caring with an attention to detail and a human face. Work is of a very high standard. The builders and tradesman used were courteous, hard working and always came when they said. Over the past six weeks of the project we have built up an excellent working relationship with the company and are now are preferred suppliers. Would highly recommend to anyone reading this review.”
